Berlin Secrets: Urban Utopia
A concrete roundabout, loud honking cars, grey skyscrapers – and in the middle, a green garden. It looks unspectacular from the outside, hidden behind bamboo and metal fences. But as you walk through the entrance, it seems like time runs slower. 'Prinzessinnengarten' is a succesful case study for urban gardening. For 60 years the space at Moritzplatz looked liked this until a team of guerrilla gardeners removed two tons of rubbish and turned it in the oasis it is now. If you feel like sticking your hands into soil, moving tetra packs and old rice bags full of plants around a garden, volunteers are welcome. Alternatively, come for lunch, coffee and cake, pick up some freshly harvested vegetables or check out the fortnightly 'Flow Markt'. Enjoy! @lilaineurope // @thefetchber
