What's in a name?

Isaak Dury explains why his men's essentials subscription start-up Mendojo is no longer rocking 'Cockjox'.

"The Cockjox name and Rooster branded logo were key selling points...However, the pornography appearing alongside the Cockjox Google search had the potential to scare away our more conservative customers.

Mendojo.com is our new name. The term dojo means “Place of the Way” which we thought matched our new venture perfectly.

“Men-doo-joo?” is generally the reaction we get. That’s fine though, we feel the uniqueness of the name reflects our product offerings and business model."
